Raku Platform Beds
Experience the epitome of Japanese simplicity and harmony with the Raku Japanese Tatami Platform Bed and collection at Haiku Designs. The Raku Tatami Platform Bed embodies traditional Japanese design principles, offering a clean and authentic sleep experience. Crafted from eco-friendly solid Parawood, also known as Rubberwood, the Raku bed is free from particle board and MDF, making it a sustainable choice. Parawood is sourced from plantations where Rubberwood trees have reached the end of their productive life, ensuring a minimal environmental impact. The bed's solid blocks of Parawood are constructed with finger joints to prevent cracking and warping, and finished with an inert lacquer finish. These joints add a unique look to the natural and honey oak finishes, while blending seamlessly with the dark walnut finish.
The Raku bed features a minimalist design with a slot-locking system that is simple, sturdy, and easy to assemble and disassemble. The solid wood slats provide a strong foundation for both Western-style mattresses and Eastern-style Shiki mats and futons. For an authentic Japanese sleep experience, pair the Raku bed with Tatami mats, which can replace a box spring and create a solid surface for thinner futons. Enhance your bedroom further with matching Raku Nightstands and explore the optional headboard and alternate frame height available in the Raku Tatami High Rise Platform Bed. If you appreciate the Raku, be sure to check out the Tomaru and Takuma Japanese Platform Beds, also constructed from Parawood, or the all-new Bamboo Kimara platform bed. Discover the blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern eco-friendly craftsmanship with the Raku collection at Haiku Designs.
