Accessibility Assistance

If you have difficulty using or accessing any element of this website, please feel free to call us at 800-736-7614 or email us at accessibility@metacommerce.com and we will work with you to provide the information, item, or transaction you seek through a communication method that is accessible for you consistent with applicable law (for example, through telephone support).

Introduction:

MetaCommerce and its subsidiary companies (Haiku Designs, LLC; Discount Tackle™, LLC; Departure Outdoors®, LLC, etc) are committed to providing equality of opportunity to persons with disabilities, including equal access to its website(s). Accordingly, this statement on Website Accessibility has been published to provide information regarding our accessibility efforts and how to communicate any accessibility issues discovered while using any of our web pages.

Please be aware that this policy is a document that is subject to change over time as our applications, infrastructure or website changes, or as applicable legislation changes. We will do our best to provide opportunities for education and communication whenever changes to the policy take place.

Our Accessibility Goal:

We are committed to ensuring equal access to our websites. Our goal is to provide a positive customer experience to all our customers, and we aim to promote accessibility and inclusion. Our goal is to permit our customers to successfully gather information and transact business through our website. Whether you are using assistive technologies like screen readers, magnifiers, voice recognition software or captions for videos, our goal is to make your use of our website a successful and enjoyable experience.

Policy Statement:

To the extent that we are able, we will utilize web page designs that are consistent with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG) Level AA. We conduct periodic audits of our website and remediate identified issues on an ongoing basis. Our most recent comprehensive audit was completed in March 2026 and covered the full WCAG 2.2 AA criterion set.

Audit and Remediation History:

We conduct regular accessibility audits using industry-standard tools including WAVE, axe DevTools, the Colour Contrast Analyser, and manual keyboard and screen reader testing. Our most recent audits and remediation efforts are summarized below:

WCAG 2.0 AA Audit — completed March 21, 2026: A comprehensive audit was performed across all primary page types (homepage, product pages, collection pages, cart, and contact form). All identified issues were remediated, including: keyboard navigation and focus management, ARIA semantics and roles, color contrast for text and UI components, image alt text, form labels, skip navigation, page titles, link purpose, and interactive control accessibility. Automated scanning with WAVE and axe DevTools confirmed no remaining violations.

WCAG 2.2 AA Delta Audit — completed March 23, 2026: A targeted audit was performed covering all criteria new to WCAG 2.2 AA that were not part of WCAG 2.0. The following criteria were tested and confirmed compliant:

  • 1.3.4 Orientation: No orientation lock. Layout adapts to portrait and landscape.
  • 1.3.5 Identify Input Purpose: All form inputs include appropriate autocomplete attributes (email, name, tel, address, password).
  • 1.4.10 Reflow: All content reflows correctly at 320px CSS width (equivalent to 400% zoom). Navigation keyboard behavior confirmed at mobile viewport widths.
  • 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast: All UI components (form borders, checkboxes, header icons, navigation) meet the 3:1 minimum contrast ratio. A contrast deficiency in a third-party lightbox component was identified and remediated.
  • 1.4.12 Text Spacing: All page layouts tested with WCAG text spacing overrides applied. No content clipping, overflow, or loss of functionality observed.
  • 1.4.13 Content on Hover or Focus: Dropdown navigation is dismissible via Escape key, hoverable, and persistent. Hidden dropdown links are removed from keyboard tab order when closed.
  • 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured: Keyboard focus offsets implemented to ensure focused elements are never hidden behind the sticky header.
  • 2.5.3 Label in Name: All interactive controls confirmed — accessible names contain visible text labels.
  • 2.5.7 Dragging Movements: All carousel and gallery interactions have single-pointer (click/tap) alternatives.
  • 2.5.8 Target Size: All interactive targets meet or exceed the 24×24px minimum. Most exceed 44×44px.
  • 3.2.6 Consistent Help: Live chat, phone number, and contact information appear consistently across all pages.
  • 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication: No CAPTCHA or cognitive function tests present on account login or registration pages.

Known Limitations:

The Google Customer Reviews badge embedded on our site contains nested interactive controls that are part of Google's third-party code and are not accessible to us for modification. We have taken steps to ensure this widget has an accessible name and does not interfere with assistive technology use of our site. This limitation does not prevent any user from completing a purchase or accessing product information.

If you encounter difficulty with any element of our site, please contact us using the information below and we will assist you directly.

Customer-Submitted Review Content:

Our product review system allows customers to upload photos and videos alongside their reviews. Customer-uploaded photos are automatically labeled by our system to support screen readers. However, customer-submitted video reviews do not include captions, as our review platform does not support customer-uploaded caption files and we are unable to caption video content we did not produce. Users who require assistance with review video content may contact us at 800-736-7614 or email accessibility@metacommerce.com for help.

Third-Party Services:

Our website integrates third-party services and applications (such as product reviews, wishlist tools, and personalization features) that may have their own accessibility characteristics outside of our direct control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of content or functionality provided by these third parties, but we actively work with our vendors to encourage accessibility improvements. If you encounter difficulty with any third-party feature on our site, please contact us at 800-736-7614 or accessibility@metacommerce.com so we can assist you directly and pass the feedback along to the appropriate vendor.

Feedback:

Please be aware that our efforts are ongoing while technology is constantly changing. While we always intend for our sites to be fully compatible, if you ever experience issues, please call us at 800-736-7614 and we'll do our best to help you over the phone until the issue is fixed. Emailed complaints regarding accessibility of the MetaCommerce family of web pages should be directed to accessibility@metacommerce.com. Any feedback and suggestions on how to improve the accessibility of our website is welcome.
